While the Donut Hole is a bit of a drive from Seagrove Haven, it’s well worth it. The lines can be long depending on the time of day, but it only makes the food taste that much better. While donuts are certainly a draw, the Donut Hole is also known for their eggs benedict, omelets, and other savory dishes. This is a must stop for us when we vacation on 30A and they make key lime pie daily.

Adventures
According to 30a.com,
“Coastal Dune Lakes are a very rare natural phenomena that only occur in a handful of locations around the globe, including New Zealand, Australia, Madagascar and South Walton, Florida.”
While you are so close to nature’s rare gift, we recommend exploring the beautiful lakes at your leisure. Our favorite lake is Deer Lake State Park and it has been called one of 30A’s best kept secrets. It offers a main boardwalk, a half-mile Blue Trail that runs around the lake, public restrooms, and access to a stunning and usually quiet beach access. It’s also a great place for a picnic.
There is a $3 honor system fee to enter, but it is so worth it.
30a runs parallel to the Timpoochee Trail. You can bike this trail from one end of 30a to the other, while experiencing the unique towns and charms along the way.
You can bike off the beaten path via the nearby Eastern Lake system, which offers a 3.5 mile, 6 mile, and 10 mile loop trail. You can access this trail from the parking lot and trailhead off of 395. It is past Publix and on the same side of the road. However, the trail is a bit sandy, beware and be prepared.
You can learn more about hike and bike trails here.
Personally, I also like to bike through the neighborhoods. If you ride to Seaside and cut through the outdoor amphitheater and go beyond the school, you will find a trail that will offer a ride through Seaside and Watercolor. It takes about 11 minutes to ride your bike to Seaside from Seagrove Haven and that’s at a breezy pace. Be sure to take your phone as it’s easy to get lost.
Eden Gardens is a magical Floridian garden. It's home to the Wesley House, which is open for tours, and also a butterfly garden. While there isn't heavy hiking, the garden is home to a short one mile trail that will allow you to experience natural areas and planned gardens. You can also take a guided tour during the week for a small fee. You can learn more about the garden and events here.
There are multiple options for fishing the area from harbor-side charters in Destin, to the bay, to deep gulf waters.
If the Bay is calling your name, FloridaBoyAdventures.com is where you should head. Florida Boy Adventures will provide fishing licenses, ice, tackle, and safety equipment. If you want, they will even clean your fish for you. Give Capt. Hunter a call at 850-499-4473 to schedule your charter.
If you want to fish gulf side, check out HarborWalk Charters. They can help connect you with a boat and a captain that best fits your needs.
We’ve chartered the Lady ‘Em, which is a larger boat available for private trips. If you have more than 7 fishing, I highly recommend this boat. Captain Mike and his crew are true pros, they have air conditioning, a bathroom, and they will clean your catch dockside. You can call them at 850-837-6717.
There is nothing like a 30a bonfire, but it’s very important to note that the event requires a permit. The cost for a permit is $50 and you can get one directly from the South Walton Fire District. However, you can also rent a beach bonfire. The $475 basic beach bonfire includes a two hour bonfire, fire pit, 10 beach chairs, one table, tiki torches, and music. Be sure to BYOS’more.

Seagrove Haven is located a short 13 minute drive to the Camp Creek Golf Club. This Tom Fazio course was ranked 6th best course in the state by Golf Magazine, 2nd best public golf course in Florida by Golf Digest, and it was named Florida’s #1 course of the new millennium by Travel & Leisure magazine. You can book your tee time here or give them a call at 850-231-7600.
If you have time, a trip to Baytowne Wharf is always a fun family adventure and kids love the Baytowne Adventure Zone. Here you can zipline across a lagoon, check your balance on their ropes course, fly into the sky on one of four giant trampolines, or let your littlest ones try out the Sky Tykes Ropes course.
If you prefer something less active, check out LoveTheREP.com. The Repertory Theatre (REP), located in Seaside (with some performances located in Rosemary Beach), is a live performance venue extravaganza. They offer both indoor and outdoor performances ranging from Improv classes to performances of The Stinky Cheese Man.
One of our favorite nighttime activities is crab hunting. Along the shoreline we’ve found plenty of crabs, sea cucumbers, and even jellyfish. We prefer to leave the wildlife in place, though I’ve seen other families out hunting with nets. In my opinion, the only thing you need for this activity is a good flashlight.
No trip to the NorthWest Coast is complete without a Yolo Adventure. After all, you only live once. Yolo Adventures offers everything from Yolo Birthdays to Yolo Yoga, to a Yolo Kids Camp at the Sandestin Marina.
Our favorite way to end the day is by watching the sunset and it always gives us the feels. A Gulf Coast sunset is something spectacular lined with bright oranges and glowing yellows with a touch of deep red. There are lots of places to catch the sunset, but one of our favs is Bud & Alley’s. Located in Seaside, this rooftop bar has an unobstructed view of the gulf and setting sun. As a special touch, they ring a cast-iron bell every day to honor the moment.
Equipment Rentals
In Seagrove, you can rent everything you need including stand up paddleboards, and kayaks.
If you want to rent gear, we recommend Yellowfin Ocean Sports. Their main headquarters is located near the Eastern Lake Bridge at 30 Herons Watch Way. They rent kayaks, fishing gear, SUP paddle boards, and more. Give them a call at 850-231-9024.
Seagrove Haven provides 4 beach cruisers, if you want to rent additional bikes and equipment, we recommend either Butterfly or Salt Air. We’ve visited with the owner of Butterfly Bikes several times. He’s a great guy, will offer free delivery to the house, and they rent bikes for a very fair price per week. Salt Air will also deliver bikes to the house and provides more of an experience. They are wonderful people who love what they do.
Prior to using the provide bicycles, the bicycle waiver must be completed. To do so, click on the link below:
If you choose to rent a Golf Cart we recommend Good Times Rentals, located at 34990 Emerald Coast Pkwy, Suite 351, Destin FL 32541. Give them a call at: 850-240-5280

Rainy Day Activities
Raining?
Wait 10 minutes. While there are times where the rain starts and stops, there are certainly times when it rains enough to change your plans. But don’t fret, there are still plenty of things to do.
Cook Like a Local
Goatfeathers Seafood Market East sells fresh seafood including fresh cut fish. They will even steam your seafood for free. After your visit, dig up your best Gulf Coast recipes and have a little fun. We also love Buddy’s. Buddy’s is closer to Eastern Lake. They sell fresh seafood and also fantastic side dishes.
Hit the Spa
If it’s raining, you might as well relax. We are big fans of Aveda’s Avant Garde Salon. They have a location at the Destin Commons and another location closer to Seagrove off of the Emerald Coast Parkway. Avant Garde is a full-service salon offering massage therapy, spa retreats, and more.
Movies and Shopping!
Pier Park is Panama City Beach’s premier shopping and entertainment destination. Serving the Panama City Beach and 30A community, this outdoor complex boasts 124 stores, ranging from clothing for the whole family to home goods, shoes and jewelry. Pier Park also offers many exciting dining options. Choose your adventures at a variety of entertainment venues from the Grand IMAX movie theater, to laser tag and live music, Pier Park is a great destination for fun, food and fantastic shopping.
Grand Boulevard is an outdoor shopping destination that is home to multiple shops and restaurants including Tommy Bahama, Anthropologie, Billabong, Lilly Pulitzer, L’Occitane, Vineyard Vines, and more. Don't miss out on $5 movies on Tuesdays at the Boulevard 10 theater.
Seaside is one of our favorite places to meander and shop. Per•spi•cas•ity is an open-air seaside bazaar and a definite must shop. They also have fun stores for kids including Duckies Shop of Fun (toys) and Seaside Kids (local goodies).
